Accessibility Services

Our accessibility team is focused on making sure that each of our guests feel welcome and included in the event. Here are some of the services that our Accessibility team provide at the event:

Social Comfort Cards

Stop by the Accessibility desk inside of Registration to pick up a set of three Social Comfort Cards. These cards provide an easy way to communicate your openness to social interaction with other guests at any time.

  • Red Card — I'm very tired and need to recharge. Please give me space.
  • Yellow Card — I'm feeling a little tired, overwhelmed or burnt out. I would like to socialize with close friends only for a bit.
  • Green Card — I'm feeling social and ready to mingle and possibly meet new friends! Feel free to say hello.

Accessibility Card

Stop by the Accessibility desk inside of Registration to pick up an Accessibility card that lets our staff and safety teams know that you have specific requirements around accessibility to our events. These cards make it easy for our teams to provide more proactive assistance to those with accessibility needs.

Our accessibility team can be found in Registration. If you need assistance with anything, or if registration is closed, please visit the Ambassador desk on the Marquis level of the Marriott Marquis.

Frequently Asked Questions

What accommodations are available for FWA?

Please see the Services page.

What does the badge do?

The badge simply lets staff know that you may need additional support. Please see any staff member if you require a specific accommodation and we will do so to the best of our ability. Please note that we do have limitations such as elevators and specific hotel rules.

Does my caregiver have to have a badge too?

All attendees are required to have a paid registration for the convention.

Can I bring my service dog?

ABSOLUTELY! We do not require any additional documentation but please ensure that they are a task-trained service dog and not an ESA. While we love and recognize that Emotional Support Animals are important, please leave them at home.

Can I request services ahead of the con?

Please do! Click here to access our form.

Can I request accessibility services for my partner/friend/other?

We cannot discuss accommodations with anyone other than the attendee unless they are underage.

Can I have a caregiver/friend/handler with me when I use services?

Yes, please limit the amount of additional guests to one for entry to events and seating.

I have a problem at the con that needs urgent attention. Where should I go?

You should flag down an Accessibility Services staff member (they will be wearing purple vests) or stop by our Ambassadors Desk in the Marriott Marquis/Courtland Grand. The number for Accessibility at Con will be on the back of your badge.

What medical documentation or proof do you require for any services?

You are not required to provide any proof of disability to receive any of our services. Although you are welcome to share specific details, we will never ask you to disclose your disability or medical condition(s).

Per the ADA laws, we are required to ask how your disability impacts your experience at the convention. Any information that you provide will be held in strict confidence and will be used to provide the best, safest experience for all attendees.
