Hoppy Hour began in 2022 at FWA from a simple, unique idea–what if there was an event where furries could share their passion for craft beverages? And, what if that shared passion could help support the local Georgia craft breweries, meaderies, cideries, and other artisans that create them?

And so, Hoppy Hour was born! Starting as a small beer garden on one of the lobby floors of the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, this exclusive FWA experience has grown into one of the convention’s most popular and anticipated events every year. We’ve welcomed numerous craft beverage makers from around the great state of Georgia to share their creations with you, our beloved attendees, and to give you the opportunity to share what you love so much about the furry fandom with them!

Hopped Up on Fun and Shared Experiences

If there’s one thing that the furry fandom and craft brewing have in common, it’s a passion to create something unique that can be shared with everyone. The Hoppy Hour Staff has received so much overwhelmingly positive feedback from the beverage makers we’ve worked with over the years about how creative, fascinating, and joyfully expressive the furry community is. And, it’s no secret that many furries see craft brewers in much the same way!

Several breweries have been so enamored with FWA and the fandom in general that they extend their presence at the convention beyond the Hoppy Hour event to connect with all of you even more, and to further promote their brands. One of our participating breweries, Social Fox (based in Norcross, GA), even worked with FWA last year to create an exclusive, special collaboration beer which many of you may remember– “O for Fox Sake!” It was widely well received, and a testament to what can be created when two highly-passionate groups of people collaborate their talents and ideas to make something special.

And, we’re excited to announce that Social Fox has worked with us again this year to deliver another unique, FWA-exclusive collaboration brew:

Traitor Vixen - A Tropical Tail of Mischief!

Norcross-based brewer Social Fox and FWA are proud to present Traitor Vixen, a tropical American wheat ale to tease your tastebuds with a tropical twist. Ms. Vixen’s favorite beverage after a successful heist, let this refreshing ale wet your palette with hints of papaya, mango, and guava.

What to Expect When You Hop Over to Join Us this Year

We’re pleased to welcome everyone again this year for FWA Hoppy Hour 2026! We’re excited to announce that we have a lot more breweries joining us this year - eleven (11) total! From lagers to IPAs–meads to ciders–ales, and more, we’ve put together a diverse menu of beverage options so there’s something for everyone. Food and non-alcoholic options will also be available. You can read more about who will be joining us below.

Time and Location

Hoppy Hour will be held on Friday, May 8, from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. in the Marriott Marquis ballroom for all convention attendees who are 21 years of age or older. There will be a special, VIP-exclusive hour from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. for our 24 Carrot Club members, which you can read more about in the section below.

We’ve changed this year’s layout a bit to help improve accessibility, flow, and organization of the event. Instead of having our breweries on the perimeter, we’ll have them in the center with two queueing areas. There will be a mix of high top tables and regular sit-down tables dispersed throughout the event space.

We’ll also have a bunch of fun yard games for you and your friends to enjoy while you’re sipping and socializing – fursuit cornhole league, anyone?!

Drink tickets are available to purchase from the ticketing area of the Hoppy Hour event throughout its duration. Drink tickets are redeemable at any Hoppy Hour participating beverage maker’s booth . Drink tickets may be purchased for 4-oz. and 12-oz. (U.S. fluid ounce) beverage sizes at the prices below. Please note that beverage pricing is set by the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

24 Carrot Club

After an overwhelmingly positive reception last year, Hoppy Hour is pleased to announce that our VIP experience package, the 24 Carrot Club, is returning again this year! Becoming a member of the 24 Carrot Club brings you the following benefits:

Hoppy Hour Pub Trivia Game

To give our anthro attendees a way to exercise their intellects while they whet their whistles, Hoppy Hour is pleased to announce the return of Furry Pub Trivia! This event isn’t just regular old pub trivia played by furries, but furry themed pub trivia featuring questions related to animals, furry media and the furry fandom itself! Furry Pub Trivia’s extra special format adds extra elements of strategy and keeps things competitive until the final question. Prizes go to the top 3 teams plus additional ways to win throughout the game!

We’re looking for teams of 4 to 6 persons. Advance signups are encouraged so we can make plans to accommodate as many teams as possible. Don’t have 3 to 5 friends? Sign up anyway and we’ll get you sorted out. Trivia will be hosted at the event stage within the Hoppy Hour ballroom. Expect two “halves” of 45 minutes with a 30 minute intermission where you can stock up on additional food and beverage. Sign up at Google form linked below.

Hoppy Hour Access Tickets

If you have 24 Carrot Club, you do not need to get a separate access ticket for Hoppy Hour as your VIP access includes access to the event.

Hoppy Hour is an exclusive event for FWA attendees who are 21 years of age or older. General access to the event is included in the price of your FWA registration, but you must get a free ticket for the event through the MyFWA Events page to access the space.

Tickets for Hoppy Hour will be available on MyFWA starting on Wednesday, April 22, at 7:00PM ET.

Viking Alchemist Meadery Ethereal (Peach Mead) (11.0% ABV) A light, silky peach mead with a soft, airy sweetness that lives up to its name. Bliss (Pear Almond Mead) (11.0% ABV) A lush pear‑almond mead and five‑time Best Mead in Georgia winner, celebrated for its smooth, elegant balance.
Fire Maker Brewing Company Hazed & Blazed (7.2% ABV) Hazy IPA, dry hopped, juicy hit of Mosaic and El Dorado hops that would leave even a dragon blazed. Uno Mas (4.5%) A Mexican lager that captures the essence of Summer. Three Taverns Brewing Rapturous Raspberry Sour Ale (5.0% ABV) The (literal) first fruit of our Sour Asylum series, Rapturous seduced palates from the first pour, earning it the honor of being our first canned sour. A lacto-fermented sour ale, matured on raspberry puree with a wheat and pilsner malt base, it refreshes with a tart and alluring fruit-forward flavor profile.
